Ülkü Solak Elected Co-Chair of the Human Rights Committee for the International Association of Young Lawyers

Ülkü Solak, Counsel at Moroğlu Arseven, has been elected as Co-Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). AIJA is the only global association devoted to lawyers and in-house counsel aged 45 and under.

Through the SOS Avocats initiative, AIJA’s Human Rights Committee supports the right of every lawyer to practice their profession freely, as well as supports every individual’s entitlement to legal representation, a fair trial and protection by the rule of law. 

Ülkü was also appointed as the National Representative for Turkey and will be in charge of representing AIJA in Turkey as part of the Membership Forum.

Ülkü has been an active AIJA member since 2011, serving as a National Reporter for Turkey in a range of commissions, as well as being elected to the Executive Committee in 2015 (more) and elected as Co-Chair to the Forum of the Commissions in 2017 (more). In these various capacities, Ülkü has been heavily involved with AIJA’s senior leadership team, as well as commissions focusing on Corporate and M&A, Tax, Intellectual Property, Technology, Media, and Telecommunications. In Ülkü’s 2017 role with the Forum of the Commissions, she was involved in coordinating the activities of 18 separate Standing Commissions.
