We assist our clients to maximize the commercial value of their patents and utility models, with a view towards protecting and encouraging future commercial value and development opportunities for our clients. Our firm offers services related to prosecution, counseling, transactions and litigation on patent and utility models. We are very familiar with local patent and utility model requirements and processes, meaning we are able to avoid our clients incurring unnecessary costs, risks and losses of intellectual property rights.
Our clients range from individual inventors and small start-up ventures, through to major multi-national corporations. Irrespective of the client’s size, we develop and implement strategies which are focused on the particular client and specific industry they operate within.
Our patent and utility model experience extends across multiple sectors, from healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment, through to automotive, energy and software. Our experience includes complex technologies, processes and products, often in highly regulated industries. Due to the nature of patent and utility model law and the associated processes in Turkey, we work closely with industry and technical experts to draft the necessary documents.
We often evaluate the patentability of new products and inventions, prepare and prosecute patent and utility model applications, as well as provide clients with advice about the validity and enforceability of their designs. When launching new products, clients often seek our support in assessing potential infringement issues in relation to third party patents and utility models.
We represent clients before the Turkish Patent Institute with regard to all types of administrative actions, including applications, oppositions and appeals. We also represent clients before courts in enforcing rights, cancellation actions, as well as seeking cancellation of the Turkish Patent Institute’s decisions
Our transactional expertise includes preparation of license, assignment, co-existence and settlement agreements, as well as negotiation support when dealing with infringers. We regularly advise clients in relation to European and PCT applications.
